Yesterday we had the budget for 2007 and I could not help noticing the endless mention of the 10 year plan. So here is a True Sri Lankan take on this.
We Sri Lankans have been trying a Budget every year for almost half a century. I would not even dare to do research and check whether any of the budgets have worked for the people. I meant People not Politicians.
Well after so many failures at Budgets, looks like we have finally come up with a budget that MIGHT work because we have 10 years to play with. Talk about long term planning.
However I cannot help thinking whether we will accomplish everything in any budget even in 100 years let alone 10 years.
